Updates Galore

First of all... we are officially a family of four! Garrett James Cutchens joined our family on September 10, 2009 at 7:51pm. 7lbs 13oz and 19 3/4 in long. He is absolutely perfect and Avery already LOVES her little brother!

Before Garrett joined us, Avery took some time to test her old baby toys to make sure they were safe for her new brother.

We also got a chance to go to the park one last time, just the 2 of us.

And as if Garrett's impending birth wasn't enough to keep us on our toes. Labor Day weekend, Avery decided she no longer want to be in her crib! She managed to flip/fall out of it Friday night. Tried again Saturday night and Sunday afternoon but thankfully I caught her in the middle of it. So we decided to convert her crib to a toddler bed, on her 19 month birthday!

Thankfully, the process went much smoother than I anticipated. It also helped tremendously that my mom came up that weekend to help me get everything ready before Garrett's birth. So she was also able to help Avery with her transition to her big girl bed!

I am happy to report that within a week of making the switch, she was back to sleeping 12 hours at night! Thank goodness! :)

We are now settling into life as a family of four. My mom left yesterday :( so I'm getting ready to attempt this all on my own while Jeremy is at work during the day. I can't express how much help my mom was while she was here, and I know I wouldn't have gotten through all of this without her.

I'll try to post some more pictures in the next day or two. :)

Touch a truck

On Saturday, we took Avery to an event that Jeremy's work was participating called "Touch a Truck". It was really hot, so we didn't stay long but we did get some pictures of Avery with the mini version of daddy's trucks. :)

Its a fully functioning truck and go up to 60 mph!
She was ready to go look at the other trucks!

We tried to get her to sit inside of the truck.. but no luck!

Yard work

This weekend Avery decided to lend a hand with the yard work! Jeremy trimmed the trees in our front yard and she was very eager to help pick up the branches.

and yes, she's sporting a t-shirt and cloth diaper in the front yard! lol She had just got up from a nap.

I've been doing alot of bargain hunting these past couple weeks trying to build up my cloth diaper stash in preparation for little man's arrival. With all these new diapers I'll have to wash, I came across a giveway for free cloth diaper detergent.

Lowry Park Zoo

We had a great visit to Tampa last week! Last Monday, Aunt Diddy aka Cari, Avery and I all went to Lowry Park Zoo. Avery had a great time despite the heat. Cari took a bunch of great pictures!!! Enjoy :)

She was seriously trying to climb in the tank with the fish!
